Project Engineer 3

Job Summary

Kiewit is hiring a Project Engineer 3 to support field execution of utility-scale power delivery work in West Lake, Texas. The role partners with project leadership, field supervision, clients, engineers, and craft teams to deliver safe, timely, cost-controlled, and quality-compliant projects.

Project Details

Kiewit Power Delivery performs transmission, distribution, and substation construction, including overhead and underground utility infrastructure and related power delivery work.

Responsibilities

• Support daily construction operations, work planning, sequencing, and interpretation of plans and specifications.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, subcontractors, RFIs, submittals, design changes, and project records.
• Assist with scheduling, progress reporting, productivity monitoring, cost control, and resource forecasting.
• Support inspections, testing, commissioning, turnover, issue resolution, and quality compliance.
• Promote safe work practices through hazard analyses, pre-task planning, and field audits.
• Coordinate with clients, inspectors, suppliers, engineers, and subcontractors on meetings and project issues.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, construction engineering, or a related discipline.
• 0–5+ years of construction, utility, power delivery, or industrial experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications, with knowledge of transmission lines, substations, or utility infrastructure preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, attendance, and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as project needs require.

Compensation and Benefits
