Project Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Construction is seeking a Project Engineer for its Civil West team in El Paso. This role supports project execution through subcontract coordination, document control, cost and schedule tracking, quality, safety, and closeout activities.

Responsibilities

• Administer assigned trade partner and subcontractor scopes, respond to questions, and monitor progress.
• Support change orders by developing pricing and evaluating cost and schedule effects.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, as-built records, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate design reviews, inspections, constructability issues, code requirements, and site coordination.
• Track project performance across HSE, cost, schedule, quality, materials, and equipment.
• Prepare progress claims and estimates, expedite material orders, and assist with project closeout, warranties, and deficiency resolution.

Required Experience

• One to three years of construction experience in an operational role is preferred.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of construction equipment, methods, drawings, specifications, HSE, quality, materials, and applicable standards.
• Ability to apply basic engineering and problem-solving principles, coordinate contracts, build schedules, and manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication, organization, time management, and Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to learn internal systems and new technology.
• Experience supporting concrete and mechanical scopes is an asset.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
