Job Summary

PCL Industrial Construction Co. is seeking a Project Engineer in Houston to support field project teams with coordination, documentation, cost control, scheduling, and safe project delivery.

Project Details

The role supports industrial construction projects and complex scopes ranging from approximately $3 million to $50 million.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quantity takeoffs, progress reporting, change documentation, estimates, and cost and schedule impact assessments.
  • Coordinate trade contractors, subcontract scopes, inquiries, progress, and contract administration.
  • Maintain RFIs, shop drawings, project records, closeout files, warranties, and commissioning documentation.
  • Support schedules, tender packages, material and equipment tracking, expediting, and project performance reporting.
  • Review drawings and construction methods, resolve constructability issues, and coordinate with designers, engineers, and project stakeholders.
  • Conduct safety inspections and training, identify hazards, and promote site HSE and quality requirements.

Required Experience

  • Preferred background includes 8–10 years of construction experience in an operational role.
  • Construction trade certification with equivalent experience, or a diploma or bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction equipment, means and methods, sequencing, drawings, specifications, building materials, HSE, quality, codes, and construction law.
  • Working knowledge of building codes and ASME piping codes, with advanced construction problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to administer subcontracts, manage contract documents, and create schedules for projects valued at $3 million to $50 million.
  • Strong communication, organization, relationship management, multitasking, and technology skills, including Microsoft Office and construction operations systems.
