Project Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Construction is seeking a Project Engineer for its Civil West team in El Paso. This role supports project delivery through subcontract coordination, document management, cost and schedule tracking, field coordination, and closeout activities.

Responsibilities

• Support trade partner contracts, subcontract administration, scope clarification, inquiries, and progress oversight.
• Assist with change pricing, change orders, and evaluation of cost and schedule impacts.
• Manage project records, RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, as-built documents, claims, estimates, and material or equipment tracking.
• Coordinate design reviews, site inspections, constructability issues, code requirements, and approvals with project partners.
• Work with the project manager and superintendent to monitor HSE, cost, schedule, quality, and overall scope performance.
• Support project closeout, including document archiving, deficiency resolution, warranty manuals, and warranty work.

Required Experience

• One to three years of construction experience in an operational role is preferred.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of construction equipment, methods, drawings, specifications, HSE, quality, materials, and field standards.
• Ability to apply basic engineering and problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
• Strong communication, organization, planning, time management, scheduling, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to coordinate subcontracts and contract documents and use Microsoft Office and internal operational systems.
