Project Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Construction Services is building its national data center business and is seeking Project Engineers for opportunities in Texas, Arizona, Oregon, and Utah. This role supports project delivery while developing expertise in construction operations, coordination, and project controls.

Project Details

The position supports PCL’s expanding data center portfolio within a national business unit. Opportunities may be based in Texas, Arizona, Oregon, or Utah.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate trade partner scopes, subcontract administration, inquiries, progress, and contract documentation.
• Support change orders by developing pricing and evaluating cost and schedule effects.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, as-built records, material tracking, and equipment orders.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, designers, and trade partners on safety, quality, schedule, cost, and constructability.
• Prepare progress claims and estimates, assist with inspections and code-related resolutions, and support project closeout and warranty activities.

Required Experience

• One to three years of construction experience in an operational role is preferred.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, equipment, drawings, specifications, materials, HSE, quality requirements, and applicable standards.
• Ability to apply basic engineering and problem-solving principles, coordinate subcontracts, build schedules, and manage competing priorities.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with familiarity using Microsoft Office and the ability to learn project systems and new technology.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
