Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring Project Engineer I and II candidates for its Power Delivery Solutions group. The role supports project coordination, field issue resolution, and construction quality management, with level determined by experience.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and specifications for subcontractors and craft workers, and coordinate field issues with project teams.
• Manage permits, project records, contract documents, RFIs, change orders, submittals, and closeout documentation.
• Coordinate testing, inspections, quality processes, and responses to non-conforming results.
• Track schedules, coordinate subcontractor documentation, and maintain as-built records.
• Support safety and compliance, determine alternative work methods, and mentor field engineers.

Required Experience

• Project Engineer I: bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management, plus at least two years of related construction experience.
• Project Engineer II: bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management, or equivalent experience, plus at least three years of related construction experience.
• Both levels require a current driver’s license, strong organization and communication skills, teamwork, and a basic understanding of construction law and business practices.

Compensation and Benefits

Project Engineer I base pay is $84,100-$113,500; Project Engineer II base pay is $93,400-$126,100. Actual ranges are higher in select locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan.
