Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Engineer II to support industrial construction assignments, with the initial placement in Beaumont, Texas. The role works under the Project Manager and may support other site personnel while contributing throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Details

This traveling position supports industrial construction work and may require relocation or travel to different company-assigned projects.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain construction drawings, project documents, logs, and coordination records.
  • Support RFIs, submittal reviews, inspections, compliance audits, and non-conformance tracking.
  • Monitor material and equipment deliveries and coordinate project information.
  • Prepare subcontract and purchase order scopes, solicit change pricing, and draft authorized change orders.
  • Use virtual design tools for coordination and support closeout, punch lists, as-built drawings, and warranty activities.

Required Experience

  • An industry-related degree is required.
  • At least two years of construction project management experience is preferred.
  • Industrial construction and Lean principles experience are preferred.
  • OSHA 30 is preferred, or the employee must be willing to obtain it after hire.
  • Strong organization, communication, initiative, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook is expected.
