Project Engineer - Mechancial

Job Summary

Support engineering and field coordination for mechanical work on the Connecticut River Bridge project in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.

Project Details

The work involves movable bridge construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance, including mechanical systems and their interfaces with structural, electrical, and controls work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical equipment installation, field operations, subcontractors, heavy lifts, and project interfaces.
• Review drawings and submittals, track schedules and production, and support procurement and cost control.
• Assist with inspections, testing, commissioning, quality activities, and operational acceptance.
• Prepare RFIs, change documentation, daily reports, meeting records, progress updates, as-builts, and turnover materials.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• At least four years of experience on heavy civil, bridge, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret engineering and shop drawings; knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and contract administration.
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems, gear drives, motors, bearings, machinery alignment, and rotating equipment.
• Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or project management software proficiency.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred; EIT certification is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range is $100,000–$175,000, depending on experience.
