Job Summary

PCL Civil Constructors is seeking a Project Engineer to support complex heavy civil water and wastewater work in Washington, D.C., and Spotsylvania, Virginia. Project Details

The role focuses on water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure, supporting work from preconstruction through closeout.

Responsibilities

• Manage quantity takeoffs, surveys, progress reporting, change management, and project documentation.
• Administer subcontracted scopes, including scope definition, inquiries, submittals, progress monitoring, and contract compliance.
• Support project startup, design-team inspections, deficiency resolution, and systems commissioning.
• Identify project risks and coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Help maintain project safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance while mentoring junior engineers.

Required Experience

• Eight to ten years of heavy civil construction experience, preferably in an operational project role.
• Strong background with water and wastewater treatment projects, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of construction methods, equipment, drawings, specifications, HSE, quality standards, scheduling, subcontract administration, and contract documents.
• Strong communication, organization, multitasking, problem-solving, and Microsoft Office skills.
