Project Manager 1 Sports Commercial Construction

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is hiring a Project Manager 1 to lead commercial and sports construction projects in Kansas City, providing overall direction and leadership for entire projects or major portions of larger, complex builds.

Project Details

This role focuses on large, complex sports and commercial construction projects with values of $20M or greater.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety culture and mentor team members toward an injury-free work environment.
• Lead buyout schedule planning, subcontractor scope review, bid package development, and subcontract issuance.
• Manage submittal schedules, shop drawing review, and coordination with design teams.
• Coordinate all project stakeholders including owners, subcontractors, vendors, and design teams.
• Prepare, submit, and obtain approval for owner and architect change requests.
• Lead monthly project reviews, OAC meetings, and progress meetings.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using Lean principles alongside the Project Superintendent.
• Prepare monthly cost and margin forecasts; monitor budget performance and flag discrepancies.
• Manage the full project closeout process including punch lists, financials, subcontracts, and warranties.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of construction management experience.
• Experience on large, complex sports or commercial construction projects ($20M+) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Advanced proficiency in project management and accounting software, scheduling software, and construction technology.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
