Job Summary
PCL Construction is seeking a Project Manager for its Civil West team in Long Beach, California. This role provides leadership and technical direction for a medium-sized construction project while managing safety, quality, budget, schedule, contracts, and stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
- Administer contracts and ensure construction aligns with design requirements, budget, resources, quality standards, and schedule.
- Develop and implement the project safety plan and promote strong health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Prepare performance reporting for safety, cost forecasts, and schedule status.
- Negotiate subcontracts, purchase orders, and progress payments while monitoring performance and progress.
- Manage contract requirements, project risks, opportunities, closeout, and stakeholder communications.
- For design-build work, coordinate design progress, constructability, quality reviews, deliverables, and design-management plans.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of progressive construction experience; leadership and mentoring experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, specifications, methods, construction law, building codes, safety, and quality management.
- Ability to plan and organize work, manage project budgets and schedules, identify risks, and build effective stakeholder relationships.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, project management, and scheduling software, with the ability to adopt new technology.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary is $140,500–$173,500, based on experience and qualifications.
