Job Summary
PCL Construction is seeking a Project Manager in Phoenix to provide leadership, contract oversight, and technical direction for a large or complex civil construction project. The role guides project delivery while supporting safety, quality, financial performance, schedule, and team development.
Responsibilities
- Administer contracts and manage project scope, budget, resources, risks, opportunities, and schedule.
- Lead implementation of the project safety plan and promote a strong site safety culture.
- Monitor construction progress, cost forecasts, staffing, quality, and schedule performance.
- Negotiate subcontracts and major purchase orders, issue progress payments, and track trade and supplier performance.
- Manage contract documents, client communication, commissioning, and project closeout.
- For design-build work, coordinate design progress, constructability, quality reviews, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.
- Supervise, coach, train, and mentor project team members.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- 10–15 years of progressive construction experience, with project leadership and mentoring experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications, codes, construction law, safety, and quality practices.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage budgets, schedules, resources, staffing, risks, and stakeholder relationships.
- Experience leading project teams and managing construction and trade performance.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, project management, and scheduling software, with the ability to adopt new technology.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship and transfers are not available.
