Job Summary
The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Manager to lead administrative and field construction activities for a data center project in Tucson, Arizona. The role oversees project performance, stakeholder relationships, quality, safety, financial outcomes, and team development.
Project Details
This traveling assignment supports data center construction in Tucson for The Weitz Company’s Phoenix business unit. The Project Manager may oversee multiple medium-sized projects, one large project, or a major scope within a complex project.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain schedules, manage long-lead items, and implement plan changes.
- Negotiate and execute subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
- Prepare project reports, owner billings, financial risk reviews, and value-engineering recommendations.
- Coordinate safety planning, preconstruction, procurement, constructability reviews, and contract compliance.
- Lead, assign, coach, and develop project staff while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.
Required Experience
- At least five years of commercial construction experience, including project management.
- Data center construction experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience leading, teaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
- An industry-related college degree is required, although equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of project management and scheduling tools such as JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, or Asta is preferred; Microsoft Office proficiency is required.
