Job Summary

Barton Malow — a contractor with over 100 years in the industry — is hiring an experienced Project Manager to lead complex construction projects in Detroit from preconstruction through closeout, with a preference for candidates who bring healthcare construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Build bidders lists, develop bidding strategy, and manage the full subcontractor procurement process including pre-bid meetings and subcontract execution.
• Initiate and manage complex project schedules, site logistics plans, cash flow projections, and constructability reviews.
• Establish and oversee the jobsite safety plan and set the safety culture on site.
• Manage cost items, general conditions budgets, change management, and job profitability monitoring in Prolog.
• Coordinate with superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, design teams, and code officials throughout project delivery.
• Ensure timely processing of RFIs, submittals, punchlists, and all project closeout documentation.
• Support business development through RFP responses and client presentations.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in GC or CM construction management.
• Healthcare construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Procore preferred; familiarity with Prolog and CPS a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
