Project Manager I - Data Center Construction

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Project Manager I to oversee data center construction projects, guiding project performance, team development, safety, quality, schedules, finances, and customer relationships.

Project Details

The role supports data center construction and may involve complex commercial, EPC, renewable energy, or emerging-technology projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage project financial performance, forecasts, cost coding, invoices, billings, contracts, and change orders.
• Support EPC negotiations, including technical exhibits and project schedules.
• Lead procurement and bid awards for major subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee trade partner selection, subcontract administration, budgets, and equipment projections.
• Develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, and provide performance feedback.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
• At least six years of related experience and demonstrated ability to support complex projects.
• Working knowledge of construction law, business practices, Microsoft Office, project applications, and relevant web tools.
• Strong organization, communication, customer service, and professional judgment.
• Current driver’s license required.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $113,500-$170,300 per year, with location-based adjustments in select offices.
• Eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
