Project Manager II

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Manager II to lead construction project planning, financial management, contracting, safety coordination, and team development from its Gig Harbor operation.

Project Details

The role supports federal, commercial, wastewater, and aviation construction. NAVFAC, USACE, and federal project experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules, manage long-lead items, and address changes affecting execution.
• Negotiate and administer change orders, subcontracts, purchase orders, and project buyout activities.
• Prepare status reports, owner billings, financial risk assessments, and value-engineering recommendations.
• Coordinate project safety planning, preconstruction, constructability reviews, budgets, contracts, and scope compliance.
• Lead, mentor, develop, assign, and evaluate project staff.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction experience, including project management, in federal, commercial, wastewater, or aviation work.
• Industry-related college degree required; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, client-relations, decision-making, analytical, and construction-management abilities.
• Experience with project management or scheduling tools such as JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, or Asta, plus Microsoft Office proficiency.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $140,000-$171,000 with a bonus program, comprehensive HSA and FSA benefits, employer-paid disability and life insurance, paid time off, 401(k) matching, tuition reimbursement, paid parental leave, and wellness benefits.
