Project Superintendent - Commercial

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Superintendent to lead field operations for commercial construction projects in its Denver business unit. This role oversees site execution, safety, scheduling, cost control, and coordination with project stakeholders.

Project Details

The position supports complex, large-scale commercial projects and typically reports to the senior Project Manager assigned to the job.

Responsibilities

• Lead subcontractors and field crews as the primary site leader.
• Establish and maintain the project safety culture.
• Develop project schedules, two-week look-ahead plans, and computerized schedule updates.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and assist with major subcontractor buyout and selection.
• Communicate with owners, designers, engineers, vendors, and trade partners.
• Track project costs and maintain accurate cost reports.

Required Experience

• At least five years of commercial construction experience across all project phases.
• Experience with safety, preconstruction, staff development, retention, and customer interaction.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and understand construction methods and materials.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• High school diploma required; an industry-related college degree is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Apple devices, and construction software, or the ability to learn company systems.
