Safety Director, Advanced Facilities Group

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Safety Director for its Advanced Facilities Group (AFG), which focuses on Mission Critical, Data Center, Semiconductor, and Industrial & Manufacturing construction projects nationally. This senior leadership role is preferably based in Kansas City, MO and reports into the AFG leadership team.

Project Details

The AFG portfolio spans large-scale data centers, semiconductor fabrication facilities, and industrial and manufacturing projects across the United States — some of the most technically complex construction work in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Direct and implement environmental, health, and safety programs across the Advanced Facilities Group.
• Track and report EHS metrics and analytics to regional executives and stakeholders.
• Lead incident investigations on serious or catastrophic safety events.
• Oversee the Drug and Alcohol program and Workers' Compensation processes, including coordination with Risk and Insurance teams.
• Design and deliver safety training for regional safety staff.
• Manage prequalification platforms such as ISNetworld and Construct Secure.
• Collaborate with safety professionals nationwide to monitor trends and drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with marketing on safety-related presentations and client-facing materials.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety/health, construction management, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of construction safety experience required; 15+ years of safety leadership preferred.
• 5+ years of people management experience required.
• 2+ years of budgeting or financial management experience required.
• Experience in Mission Critical, Industrial/Manufacturing, or Advanced Industries construction preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office and construction safety software; familiarity with SIMS a plus.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
