Safety Manager I

Job Summary

Granite is hiring a Safety Manager I to administer safety programs for an assigned location, with vacancies in Kennewick and Vancouver, Washington. The role requires substantial onsite work at project locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety-system compliance, incident prevention efforts, inspections, audits, and training.
• Review work procedures and job hazard analyses, and help implement controls to protect workers and the public.
• Participate in agency inspections, investigate incidents and near misses, and track corrective actions.
• Coordinate with company teams, project owners, medical providers, and testing facilities.

Required Experience

• At least three years of construction or applicable industry experience with safety responsibilities.
• A bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or a related field is preferred.
• CSP, CHST, or CMSP certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal safety regulations, strong communication and organizational skills, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• A valid state-issued driver's license is required. Bilingual ability is preferred.
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces, climb stairs and ladders, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Safety-sensitive position subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range is $91,944-$137,916. Benefits include paid holidays and sick leave, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending options, wellness programs, and a 401(k) with an immediate 100% match on the first 6% of eligible compensation deferred by salaried employees.
