Safety Manager I - Industrial Construction (Traveling)

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Safety Manager I to provide field safety leadership on traveling industrial construction projects. The initial assignment is in North Dakota, with future national travel based on project needs.

Project Details

This role supports industrial construction projects and works directly with project teams at active jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Help develop project safety plans and participate in preconstruction and pre-task planning.
• Monitor safety performance, conduct inspections and audits, and verify corrective actions.
• Deliver project-wide safety training and facilitate safety committees.
• Support regulatory compliance, incident investigations, industrial hygiene assessments, and safety documentation.
• Coordinate safety activities with the Project Manager and reinforce stop-work authority for unsafe conditions.

Required Experience

• At least three years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
• Strong judgment, communication, organization, coaching, conflict-resolution, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn project-specific software.
