Safety Manager I (Traveling)

Job Summary

EPI Power is seeking a traveling Safety Manager I to provide safety leadership and oversight for a data center construction project in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The role supports consistent safety standards, field training, preconstruction planning, inspections, and incident response.

Project Details

EPI Power specializes in fast-track electrical construction for data centers. This assignment is based at a Cedar Rapids data center project and requires work Monday through Saturday, totaling approximately 58 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Advise project and business leaders on safety programs, regulatory developments, work practices, and workers’ compensation requirements.
• Conduct project inspections, safety audits, industrial hygiene assessments, and follow-up reviews of corrective actions.
• Support OSHA and third-party inspections, hearings, incident investigations, and safety accountability reviews.
• Deliver safety training, coordinate safety committee activities, and promote employee stop-work authority.
• Develop project safety plans and support proposal activities for new work.
• Communicate safety issues and best practices across the organization.
• Support administration of vehicle safety and drug and alcohol policies.

Required Experience

• At least four years of construction safety experience in a formal safety role.
• Data center construction experience is preferred.
• Strong organizational, leadership, coaching, conflict-resolution, communication, and technical writing skills.
• Experience across multiple construction phases and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
