Safety Specialist 1

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is hiring a Safety Specialist 1 to coordinate and implement field safety programs on construction projects within its Advanced Facilities Group, which focuses on data centers, semiconductor, and industrial and manufacturing work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine walk-through inspections and safety audits to identify and document hazardous conditions.
• Perform new hire safety orientations and oversee drug and alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitor prime contractor and subcontractor safety programs for compliance.
• Participate in pre-planning and progress meetings to address safety topics.
• Support field leadership with safety committees, meetings, and related activities.
• Assist in accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action recommendations.
• Coordinate return-to-work efforts for injured employees and compile injury progress reports.
• Track abatement findings using internal safety management systems.

Required Experience

• 0–2 years of construction or related safety experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in a safety and health-related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office and construction technology tools.
• Ability to recognize hazards and implement corrective measures.
