Job Summary
JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Safety Specialist to join its Advanced Facilities Group in Kansas City, supporting mission critical construction projects including data centers, semiconductor facilities, and industrial manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular walk-through inspections and safety audits on assigned construction sites.
- Identify, document, and recommend abatement of hazardous conditions using internal safety management systems.
- Lead project-specific new hire orientations and oversee drug and alcohol policy compliance.
- Monitor subcontractor and prime contractor safety program implementation.
- Participate in pre-planning and progress meetings to address safety matters.
- Support field leadership with safety committee activities and program execution.
- Assist in accident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Coordinate return-to-work efforts for injured employees and compile injury summary reports.
- Monitor and manage the site safety incentive program.
Required Experience
- 0–2 years of construction or related safety experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in a safety or health-related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and construction technology platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; frequent standing, walking, climbing, and bending required.
