Safety Specialist 2, Mission Critical

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is hiring a Safety Specialist 2 for its Advanced Facilities Group, supporting mission critical construction projects including data centers, semiconductor facilities, and industrial manufacturing sites. This mid-level safety role coordinates and implements field safety programs across large, complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine walk-through inspections to ensure regulatory and company policy compliance.
• Perform safety audits, document hazardous conditions, and recommend corrective actions using internal safety management systems.
• Lead project-specific new hire orientations and oversee drug and alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitor subcontractor safety programs and participate in project planning and progress meetings.
• Support field leadership with safety committee activities, meetings, and related initiatives.
• Assist in accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action recommendations.
• Coordinate return-to-work efforts for injured employees and compile injury summary reports.
• Perform trend analysis to identify recurring safety issues and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Provide safety training to new and existing project team members on basic and intermediate topics.
• Assist safety leadership during insurance audits.

Required Experience

• 2+ years of construction safety experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in a safety or health-related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office and construction safety management software.
• Ability to identify complex hazards and develop appropriate abatement solutions.
