Job Summary
JE Dunn is seeking a Safety Specialist 2 to coordinate field safety activities on mission-critical construction work in Houston. The role supports project teams on routine through increasingly complex assignments and reports to safety leadership.
Project Details
The Advanced Facilities Group delivers mission-critical, data center, semiconductor, and other advanced industrial and manufacturing projects for innovative clients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections and audits, document hazards, and track corrective actions through company safety systems.
- Lead project orientations, support drug and alcohol policy compliance, and monitor contractor safety programs.
- Participate in project meetings, safety committees, incentive programs, and field safety planning.
- Support accident investigations, root-cause reviews, injury coordination, and return-to-work reporting.
- Analyze safety trends, recommend mitigation strategies, train project personnel, and assist with insurance audits.
- Oversee safety activities for a large complex project or multiple projects.
Required Experience
- At least two years of construction safety experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in safety or a related health field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, local, and company safety requirements.
- MS Office proficiency, construction technology capability, and intermediate proficiency with safety software and tools.
- Ability to identify hazardous conditions, implement corrective measures, communicate effectively, and collaborate with project teams.
