Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is looking for a Safety Specialist 2 to coordinate and implement the field safety program across complex mission critical construction projects — including data centers, semiconductor fabs, and industrial and manufacturing facilities — as part of the Advanced Facilities Group.

Project Details

This role sits within JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group, which focuses on large-scale data center, semiconductor, and industrial and manufacturing projects across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site walk-through inspections to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations as well as company policy.
  • Identify, document, and recommend abatement of hazardous conditions using internal safety management systems.
  • Lead project-specific new hire orientations and oversee drug and alcohol policy compliance.
  • Monitor prime contractor and subcontractor safety programs and attend project planning and progress meetings.
  • Support field leadership with safety committee activities and chair the project safety committee.
  • Assist in accident investigations, root cause analysis, and development of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate return-to-work efforts for injured employees and compile injury progress reports.
  • Perform trend analysis to identify problem areas and recommend solutions to mitigate future incidents.
  • Provide safety training on basic and intermediate topics for safety and project team personnel.
  • Assist safety leadership during insurance audits.

Required Experience

  • 2+ years of construction safety experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a safety and health-related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and construction safety software and management systems.
  • Strong ability to recognize hazardous conditions and implement corrective measures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to contribute actively in meetings.
  • Ability to manage one large or complex project and/or multiple concurrent projects.
