Senior Electrical Engineer Kiewit Power Engineering

Job Summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and design expertise for power and infrastructure projects across North America. The position may be based in several Kiewit offices, with remote-to-hybrid arrangements planned for select new locations.

Project Details

The Power district delivers engineering and EPC services for gas-fired generation, power delivery, environmental upgrades, renewable energy, emerging technologies, and water/wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering activities for mid-sized to major projects and proposals.
• Prepare and review one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment data sheets, hazardous-area drawings, and electrical power studies.
• Perform complex calculations, review vendor documentation, and apply electrical codes and industry standards.
• Lead design quality reviews, scope changes, cost and schedule adjustments, and process improvements.
• Guide less experienced engineers, coordinate with project teams and other disciplines, and serve as a technical customer resource.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, API, and applicable industry and regulatory standards.
• Experience with power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and relay coordination is preferred.
• ETAP electrical power system analysis experience is desired.
• Ability to lead teams, communicate technical information, manage multiple assignments, and work with limited supervision.

Compensation and Benefits
