Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking Senior and Principal Electrical Engineers to develop practical, construction-ready electrical systems for complex industrial and infrastructure projects. Direct full-time roles are available through Kiewit offices, with remote contract opportunities also offered.

Project Details

The Industrial Design Group supports EPC and design-build work involving water and wastewater treatment, data centers, campus energy, industrial energy, heavy manufacturing, processing, mining, and related facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical layouts, schematics, calculations, studies, specifications, and conceptual designs.
  • Perform ETAP modeling, load-flow, protection coordination, reliability, simulation, and grounding analyses.
  • Use SmartPlant or comparable tools for balance-of-plant electrical design.
  • Coordinate design interfaces with construction partners and other disciplines, including equipment and construction bid evaluations.
  • Guide junior engineers and support projects from proposals and FEED through design-build and EPC delivery.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • At least 8 years of electrical engineering design experience on industrial facilities.
  • Advanced ETAP or similar software experience and familiarity with SmartPlant or comparable design software.
  • Experience with FEED, design-build, EPC delivery, 30/60/90% design progression, and leading electrical projects.
  • Professional Engineer license required or attainable within 12 months.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for work supporting certain nuclear projects.
  • Field construction or startup experience and experience mentoring junior engineers are desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $123,000-$140,000 per year for direct full-time employment. Contract roles are full-time for 3 to 6 months and may be performed remotely.
