Senior ME Engineer

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Senior ME Engineer to provide technical leadership for mechanical, electrical, piping, and fire protection systems on major power-generation projects. The role supports project delivery from preconstruction through installation, testing, and commissioning while helping expand the company’s power-sector engineering capabilities.

Project Details

Work is part of JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group and focuses on complex power-sector, industrial, manufacturing, data center, and semiconductor construction. Projects use EPC delivery and require expertise in natural gas and thermal power systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate MEPFP systems with project teams, field leaders, designers, original equipment manufacturers, and trade partners.
• Support estimating, bid analysis, scheduling, constructability, quality control, subcontractor selection, and systems sequencing.
• Review design documents and shop drawings, conduct inspections, and resolve technical and installation challenges.
• Develop commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, and functional testing procedures; verify testing and close deficiencies.
• Lead technical initiatives, mentor M/E engineers, establish consistent engineering standards, and contribute to business development.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 10 or more years of construction management experience preferred, with a record of managing major power-generation projects.
• Expertise in EPC delivery, risk management, construction technology, scheduling, budgets, and Lean processes.
• Advanced knowledge of natural gas and thermal power generation systems, including electrical, mechanical, process piping, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Ability to read plans and specifications, execute EPC contracts, and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
