Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior Pre-construction Manager for its Denver office to lead complex project planning, estimating, scheduling, and client coordination from pursuit through transition to construction.

Project Details

The role supports medium-sized to large construction projects, with data center experience strongly preferred. Work includes estimating, constructability reviews, value analysis, design-phase coordination, and operational handoff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preconstruction services, including conceptual and detailed estimating, scheduling, feasibility analysis, and subcontractor engagement.
  • Build relationships with owners, design teams, trade partners, and internal departments.
  • Support proposals, interviews, client presentations, and business development efforts.
  • Analyze scope, contracts, market conditions, and design information to identify and reduce project risks.
  • Coordinate design-phase deliverables to align with budgets, schedules, and client objectives.
  • Integrate BIM, LEED, Lean, and other technology or sustainability strategies where appropriate.
  • Prepare project schedules and lead the transition from preconstruction to construction operations.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop assigned employees and preconstruction team members.

Required Experience

  • At least 6 years of construction estimating and/or project management experience.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong estimating, analytical, negotiation, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of construction systems and cost impacts.
  • Microsoft Office and Apple product proficiency required.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, WinEst, SureTrak, Prolog, BIM, or JDE preferred.
