Senior Project Engineer

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join its Advanced Facilities Group in Kansas City, supporting large-scale industrial, data center, and semiconductor construction projects. This role manages a small project or a defined component of a larger, complex project under general oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating for base project scopes, self-perform work, and change requests; establish scopes and identify subcontractors.
• Manage the submittal process and maintain alignment with the project schedule.
• Prepare and oversee the project schedule for assigned work portions.
• Review and approve monthly subcontractor and vendor pay applications.
• Coordinate pre-planning, OAC, and monthly project review meetings.
• Manage project risks including subcontractor performance, financials, and resource allocation.
• Lead the project closeout process including punch lists, quality tracking, and inspections.
• Mentor and train junior project team members.
• Support job setup and project administration in CMiC and other company platforms.
• Implement Lean practices and identify self-perform opportunities.

Required Experience

• 3+ years of construction experience; bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
• Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, and construction technology platforms.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, subcontract terms, and Lean principles.
• Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
