Senior Project Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Construction, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support delivery of a water treatment facility in El Paso, Texas. This role is suited to a construction professional with strong concrete experience, an interest in developing mechanical-scope knowledge, and familiarity with project forecasting and financial controls.

Project Details

The position supports a civil construction project involving a water treatment facility and coordination across concrete, mechanical, design, subcontractor, and commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity takeoffs and surveys to support progress tracking, reporting, and change management.
• Administer complex subcontracted scopes, including defining work, responding to inquiries, and tracking performance.
• Support project startup and help interpret contract obligations for assigned scopes.
• Review subcontractor submittals for scope, design, and interdisciplinary coordination before design-team review.
• Assist with design inspections, identify installation deficiencies, and witness system commissioning.
• Recognize and communicate risks affecting project scopes or overall project delivery.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 4-6 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction equipment, methods, drawings, specifications, materials, standards, HSE, and quality requirements.
• Ability to apply basic engineering and problem-solving methods to field challenges.
• Strong communication, planning, organization, scheduling, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Experience preparing and administering subcontracts and contract documents.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and willingness to adopt internal operational systems and new technology.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
