Senior Project Engineer, Mission Critical

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support mission critical construction projects — including data centers, semiconductor fabs, and advanced industrial facilities — through its Advanced Facilities Group. The role manages a small project or a defined component of a larger, more complex project under general oversight.

Work is performed through JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group, which focuses on large-scale data center, semiconductor, and industrial and manufacturing construction projects across the country.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating for base project scopes, self-perform work, and change requests; identify and select subcontractors and vendors.
• Manage the submittal process to keep pace with the project schedule.
• Prepare and maintain the project schedule for assigned scopes of work.
• Review and approve monthly subcontractor and vendor pay applications.
• Coordinate pre-planning, OAC, and monthly project review meetings.
• Track and report production statistics, daily manpower, and progress updates to the project team.
• Lead project closeout including punch lists, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior project engineers.
• Implement Lean construction practices and identify self-perform opportunities.

Required Experience

• 3+ years of construction experience.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
• Proficiency in MS Office and project management/accounting software (CMiC experience a plus).
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, Lean principles, and subcontractor management.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across project teams.
