Senior Superintendent Sports Commercial Construction (Union)

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead complex, high-value sports and commercial construction projects in Kansas City. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record on stadium or arena projects exceeding $200M and is comfortable managing multiple superintendents and driving field operations from pre-plan through closeout.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all field operations on complex stand-alone or multiple concurrent projects, managing other superintendents on site.
• Champion the company safety culture, investigate incidents, and mentor field staff on injury prevention.
• Develop and manage the project schedule in coordination with the Project Manager, adjusting as conditions evolve.
• Direct subcontractors, suppliers, and self-perform crews; lead daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
• Monitor project budgets and costs using the project management system and cost reports.
• Coordinate with owners, design teams, and governing authorities on project status and documentation.
• Support project pursuits, business development, and client relationship building.
• Identify and actively manage project risks; recommend and implement solutions.
• Oversee quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC standards, and pre-punch activities at closeout.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of construction experience with at least 8+ years in field supervision.
• Demonstrated success leading complex, high-value sports projects exceeding $200M in value.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
• Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, and scheduling software.
• Experience with Lean principles preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of specific trades, self-perform work, crane flagging, and rigging.
