Job Summary
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking a senior water resources engineer for its transportation design team in Lone Tree, Colorado. The role provides advanced hydrologic and hydraulic expertise across North American infrastructure projects while guiding developing engineers and designers.
Project Details
The position supports transportation projects delivered through design-build, public-private partnership, and CM/GC methods, with work extending across Texas and other states. Project responsibilities span drainage, flood analysis, stormwater, channels, culverts, bridges, and related water resources design.
Responsibilities
- Lead drainage design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, plans, specifications, estimates, reports, and technical documentation.
- Provide technical oversight for complex water resources assignments and serve as Engineer of Record when appropriate.
- Mentor junior and mid-level staff through advanced technical guidance, workflows, and training.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams, support proposals and technical meetings, and resolve design issues.
- Manage engineering scopes, schedules, budgets, permits, and agency-submittal documentation.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field and at least 12 years of drainage, hydraulics, hydrology, or water resources design experience.
- Professional Engineer license and experience with United States transportation projects are required.
- Experience with HEC-HMS, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HY-8, StormCAD, CivilStorm, PondPack, FlowMaster, or comparable hydrologic and hydraulic tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of transportation construction plans, FHWA hydraulic guidance, NFIP flood analysis, stormwater compliance, erosion control, and related drainage design is preferred.
- Design-build experience, 2D modeling, AI tools, and experience mentoring other professionals are valued.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary is $150,000-$165,000 per year. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement plans with matching, and paid time off. Relocation assistance is available.
