Sr. Field Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Industrial Construction Co. is seeking a Senior Field Engineer in Houston to connect design requirements with field execution, support project leadership, and help deliver industrial construction work.

Project Details

The role supports projects and scopes valued between $1.5 million and $3 million, including field coordination, subcontractor administration, commissioning, document control, and compliance activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs, surveys, progress reporting, and project document control.
• Coordinate trade contractor work, subcontractor scopes, inquiries, submittals, and schedule progress.
• Review drawings, specifications, constructability concerns, change orders, and cost and schedule impacts.
• Support project managers and superintendents with HSE, quality, cost, schedule, inspections, commissioning, and deficiency resolution.
• Coordinate RFIs, shop drawings, as-built documentation, and design team responses.

Required Experience

• Preferred 4–7 years of construction experience in an operational role.
• Construction trade certification with equivalent experience, or a diploma or bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering.
• Knowledge of construction equipment, methods, drawings, specifications, HSE, quality, building materials, construction law, building codes, and ASME piping codes.
• Ability to administer subcontracts, apply engineering problem-solving principles, and use Microsoft Office, Baseplate, and other operational systems.
• Strong communication, organization, planning, multitasking, and technology-adoption skills.
