Job Summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking a senior Geotechnical Engineer to support its expanding infrastructure design group from the Lone Tree, Colorado office. The role combines technical engineering, proposal support, design-build collaboration, and coordination with construction teams.

Project Details

Work supports EPC and design-build infrastructure projects through a multidisciplinary organization covering civil, structural, drainage, roadway, rail, materials, and geotechnical engineering. The position may support projects across Kiewit's major markets and travel to project offices as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop geotechnical recommendations, design deliverables, and risk mitigation plans for proposals and active projects.
  • Evaluate innovative, constructible, and cost-effective solutions to geotechnical challenges.
  • Coordinate design activities with pursuit, engineering, project controls, and construction teams.
  • Serve as a geotechnical lead or project manager when assigned and direct or review other engineers' work.

Required Experience

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in geotechnical engineering or a closely related field.
  • At least 11 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience; 15 or more years preferred.
  • Professional Engineer registration in the United States is required.
  • Broad experience with foundations, slope stability, seismic engineering, retaining systems, rock mechanics, settlement, ground improvement, excavation support, and dewatering.
  • Strong communication, interdisciplinary coordination, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
  • EPC or design-build experience is preferred; experience with AI agents and tools is also preferred.
  • Ability to access construction sites in varied climates and environmental conditions and work overtime or weekends when required.

Compensation and Benefits
