Sr Project Engineer Commercial Construction

Job Summary

Barton Malow Builders is hiring a Senior Project Engineer to support commercial construction delivery in Richmond, Virginia. The role coordinates engineering activities and serves as a communication link among the project team, design professionals, owners, and contractors.

Project Details

The position supports projects across commercial service lines, including sports and entertainment venues, healthcare facilities, and higher education work.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for project issues and help superintendents maintain field schedules.
• Process submittals and RFIs, assist with schedule management, and coordinate plan reviews and approvals.
• Prepare agendas, lead meetings, and support site logistics planning.
• Review contractor change quotations and process change orders.
• Apply corporate safety policies on the jobsite and support document control and project closeout.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• At least four years of professional construction experience and/or related internship experience.
• OSHA 30-Hour training is preferred.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, self-direction, problem-solving ability, and commitment to safety.
