Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to lead safety performance for electrical construction projects throughout the United States. Based in Boston, this field-focused position partners with project teams, craft employees, subcontractors, and consultants to strengthen safety culture and regulatory compliance.

Project Details

Mass. Electric Construction Co. supports technically complex industrial electrical construction projects using both traditional and alternative delivery methods. The role is based in Boston and includes weekly support of active sites nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and improve project safety programs in accordance with OSHA, applicable regulations, and company standards.
  • Work with field operations and craft teams to promote safety ownership and use Stop Work Authority when conditions are unsafe.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Track leading indicators and safety KPIs, coordinate corrective actions, and report performance to project and senior leadership.
  • Maintain required incident reporting and relationships with regulatory agencies and emergency response services.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, environmental science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of construction safety management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, construction safety standards, and industry practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, along with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to access active construction sites, work extended hours and weekends as needed, and travel weekly across the United States.
  • Relocation to the Boston area is required for candidates outside the region.

Compensation and Benefits
