Job Summary

Kiewit is hiring a Structural Steel Superintendent to direct field execution for structural steel work within its Water Facilities South district. The role is based in Abilene, Texas, with assignments and relocation determined by project needs.

Kiewit Water Facilities South delivers water treatment, wastewater treatment, and desalination projects throughout North America.

Responsibilities

• Direct structural steel erection and related field construction activities.
• Supervise foremen, craft workers, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and work sequencing.
• Coordinate steel operations with project management, engineering, suppliers, and other field leaders.
• Review plans and specifications, track progress, resolve schedule issues, and support construction planning.
• Maintain standards for safety, quality, productivity, and cost control while developing field personnel.
• Work overtime and weekends when project deadlines require it.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction experience with substantial structural steel experience.
• Prior leadership experience as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, general foreman, or comparable field supervisor.
• Working knowledge of steel erection, construction documents, scheduling, sequencing, safety, quality, and field planning.
• Ability to lead craft personnel and subcontractors and communicate effectively with project teams and suppliers.
• Willingness to travel or relocate and maintain reliable attendance at changing project locations.
