Job Summary
Kiewit Power Delivery is hiring a Substation Superintendent to lead field execution for major high-voltage transmission and substation infrastructure projects. The role oversees field teams, project delivery, safety, quality, scheduling, costs, and client relationships.
Project Details
The position supports a large electric utility portfolio using an Early Contractor Involvement and progressive design-build approach. Assignments may be based at area offices or project sites across several U.S. states.
Responsibilities
- Direct field operations and coordinate multiple foremen, craft professionals, and subcontractors.
- Support planning, problem resolution, client meetings, contract administration, and project turnover.
- Review job cost updates, cash-flow projections, daily records, performance evaluations, and staffing recommendations.
- Mentor junior superintendents and foremen while promoting safe, productive, and high-quality execution.
- Work overtime and weekends when project requirements demand.
Required Experience
- At least 8 years of construction experience, including 3 or more years leading transmission or substation projects.
- Experience managing teams on complex, large-scale infrastructure work.
- Strong communication, planning, negotiation, and client coordination skills.
- Knowledge of progressive design-build or Early Contractor Involvement models is beneficial.
- Regular attendance, deadline management, professional communication, and adherence to safety procedures are required.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary is $115,000-$120,000 per year. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life insurance, disability, retirement matching, and paid time off benefits.
