Superintendent 1

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction's Advanced Facilities Group is seeking a Superintendent 1 to help plan, manage, and execute field operations on Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. This role oversees subcontractors, self-perform work, safety, quality, and scheduling on a small project or a defined portion of a larger project.

Responsibilities

• Lead jobsite safety culture, investigate incidents, and retrain staff as needed.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and self-perform crews; develop and oversee work plans.
• Create, update, and implement the project schedule in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Run daily standup and weekly trade meetings; participate in OAC and project review meetings.
• Track project budget and costs using the project management system.
• Maintain project documentation including drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks.
• Ensure quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC processes, and established standards.
• Support project closeout by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating with owners and authorities.
• Manage material, equipment, and timecard approval processes.
• Partner with field and project management leadership on staffing, schedule changes, and cost impacts.

Required Experience

• 3+ years of construction experience with 1+ years of field supervision.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, scheduling software, and project management/accounting software.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, trades, self-perform work, and labor productivity.
• Ability to apply Lean process and philosophy on active projects.
• Intermediate knowledge of layout, crane flagging, and rigging.
