Superintendent 2 Mechanical, Mission Critical

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent 2 to join its Advanced Facilities Group, supporting Mission Critical projects such as data centers, semiconductor fabs, and industrial facilities. This field leadership role oversees subcontractors, schedules, safety, and quality on moderately complex projects or major portions of larger ones.

Responsibilities

• Lead and enforce the company safety culture; investigate incidents and retrain staff as needed.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and self-perform work plans from start to finish.
• Create, update, and implement the project schedule in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Run daily standups, weekly trade meetings, and participate in owner-architect-contractor (OAC) meetings.
• Track project costs and budgets using project management software and cost reports.
• Maintain project documentation including drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks.
• Oversee material and equipment procurement and manage the timecard approval process.
• Ensure quality compliance through specifications, in-house QA/QC standards, and outside resources.
• Support project closeout through pre-punch supervision and coordination with owners and authorities.
• Identify and actively manage project risks; recommend and implement solutions with the team.
• Partner with field and project management leadership on staffing, scope changes, and project buyout.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of construction experience with at least 3+ years in field supervision.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office, project management and accounting software, and scheduling software.
• Working knowledge of Lean construction principles preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work non-traditional hours as project needs demand.
