Superintendent 2, Mission Critical

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Superintendent 2 to lead moderately complex mission-critical construction work in Council Bluffs. This role manages field execution, project coordination, safety, quality, schedule, and closeout activities for a stand-alone project or a significant project portion.

Project Details

The position is part of JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group, which delivers data center, semiconductor, advanced industrial, and manufacturing projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct subcontractors, suppliers, company personnel, site logistics, materials, equipment, and workflow.
• Manage project safety, quality, production, scheduling, risks, costs, documentation, and field staffing.
• Develop subcontractor and self-perform work plans and coordinate daily, trade, owner, architect, and governing-authority meetings.
• Maintain project records, reports, drawings, logs, inspections, timecards, and cost information.
• Coordinate procurement, change management, quality compliance, pre-punch work, and project closeout.
• Support project pursuits, buyout, reviews, negotiations, and implementation of project preplans.
• Promote an injury-free, diverse, inclusive, and collaborative workplace.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of construction experience and 3 years of field supervision experience.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, project management and accounting software, construction technology, Lean practices, trades, self-perform productivity, layout, and rigging.
• Intermediate communication, presentation, collaboration, budgeting, risk-management, and document-change skills.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license required; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions and non-traditional hours.
• Lean principles experience is preferred.
