Superintendent 2 Sports Construction (Union)

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Superintendent 2 to lead field operations on complex sports construction projects in Kansas City. This role manages subcontractors, self-perform work, scheduling, safety, and quality on high-value projects exceeding $100M in value.

Project Details

The position focuses on large-scale sports construction projects with significant complexity, requiring demonstrated success managing projects valued above $100M from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of field safety, quality, and schedule on assigned projects.
• Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and company staff across the full project lifecycle.
• Develop and manage work plans for subcontractors and self-performed scopes.
• Create, update, and implement the project schedule in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Run daily standup meetings, weekly trade meetings, and participate in OAC progress meetings.
• Track project budget and costs using project management systems and cost reports.
• Manage material and equipment procurement and approval processes.
• Ensure quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC standards, and inspections.
• Support project closeout, pre-punch activities, and coordination with owners and architects.
• Identify and actively manage project risks throughout the lifecycle.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of construction experience with at least 3+ years in field supervision.
• Demonstrated success leading complex, high-value sports construction projects exceeding $100M.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, and scheduling software.
• Working knowledge of Lean construction principles preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
