Superintendent 3 Sports Commercial Construction (Union)

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent 3 to lead complex, high-value sports and commercial construction projects in Kansas City. This role oversees all field operations from pre-construction through closeout, managing multiple field supervisors and subcontractors on projects exceeding $200M in value.

Project Details

The focus is large-scale, high-value sports and commercial projects requiring demonstrated leadership on complex, multi-supervisor field operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute all field construction activities from start to finish on moderately complex stand-alone projects.
• Lead and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and self-perform crews while overseeing safety, quality, and EEO compliance.
• Develop, manage, and adjust project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Conduct daily standups, weekly trade meetings, and participate in OAC progress meetings.
• Monitor project budget and costs using project management systems and cost reports.
• Identify and manage project risks, develop work plans, and coordinate material and equipment needs.
• Support project closeout, including pre-punch activities and coordination with owners and architects.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships to develop future business opportunities.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of construction experience with at least 5+ years in field supervision.
• Demonstrated success leading complex, high-value sports projects exceeding $200M.
• Proficiency in MS Office, project management/accounting software, and scheduling software.
• Knowledge of construction means and methods, self-perform work, and labor productivity.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience with Lean principles preferred.
