Job Summary
Kiewit is seeking an Electrical Construction Superintendent to lead field operations for transit, rail, and related industrial construction projects. This role supervises craft leadership, coordinates project participants, and drives safe, productive, high-quality execution.
Project Details
Mass. Electric Construction Company delivers transit and rail systems across the United States and Canada, including overhead contact systems, traction power substations, signaling, train control, communications, and control centers. The successful candidate must be prepared to travel or relocate to project locations throughout the United States.
Responsibilities
- Direct craft activities through general foremen and foremen while monitoring productivity, safety, quality, and schedule performance.
- Coordinate field engineering, subcontractors, suppliers, and other superintendents to maintain workflow and meet project requirements.
- Review drawings and specifications, support schedule planning, and determine labor, material, and equipment needs.
- Manage inspections, cost-control practices, quality standards, job safety training, and schedule development.
- Address employee conflicts and scheduling challenges and communicate significant issues to project and corporate leadership.
- Ensure company procedures, safety programs, attendance expectations, and workplace conduct standards are followed.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of construction experience, including 3 or more years in a supervisory position.
- Electrical construction or transit and rail construction experience is required.
- Working knowledge of union agreements, jurisdictional matters, safety requirements, scheduling, cost control, and construction drawings.
- Ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance, communicate effectively, meet deadlines, and work overtime or weekends when needed.
- Regular attendance, safe work practices, and a strong commitment to quality and injury prevention.
Compensation and Benefits
Base compensation is $138,000/yr - $144,000/yr. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement plans with matching, and paid time off.
