Job Summary

Tutor Perini Civil East is hiring a steel-focused Superintendent to lead field execution for its Connecticut River Bridge team in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.

Project Details

The role supports a civil infrastructure bridge project and requires experience with movable bridges, including bascule, swing, or lift bridges.

Responsibilities

• Direct structural and miscellaneous steel erection, including beams, columns, trusses, stairs, railings, and connections.
• Coordinate steel deliveries, installation, crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
• Manage field productivity, equipment, safety, quality checks, and steel activity schedules.
• Identify and resolve erection, fabrication, and design issues; keep daily reports and inspection records.

Required Experience

• 10+ years in civil or structural construction focused on steel erection, with superintendent or foreman experience on steel-intensive work.
• Movable bridge project experience is required.
• Knowledge of steel systems, drawings, welding and bolting standards, AISC standards, erection sequencing, and rigging practices.
• Ability to interpret structural and shop drawings and coordinate steel work with concrete and other trades.
• OSHA 30 is preferred; NCCER or other steel erection certifications are a plus.
• Construction management software and Microsoft Office proficiency; experience with union and non-union labor forces.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range is $175,000-$250,000, depending on experience.
