Transmission Engineer Lead Kiewit Power Delivery Engineering

Job Summary

Kiewit Power Delivery is seeking a senior Transmission Engineer Lead to direct technical work and mentor engineers and designers supporting overhead transmission projects from 12 kV through 500 kV. The position is based in Lone Tree, Colorado, and supports utility and EPC clients nationwide.

Project Details

The team delivers overhead transmission engineering from early routing and conceptual studies through detailed design, procurement support, and construction. Work includes utility, renewable energy, industrial, and other power delivery applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and design staff while coordinating schedules, workloads, and multidisciplinary project priorities.
• Guide routing studies, structure selection, cost reviews, constructability evaluations, and detailed transmission design packages.
• Review plan and profile drawings, structure and foundation design information, conductor and hardware specifications, bills of material, and construction work packages.
• Use PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole/Tower, SAG10, and related tools to validate design work.
• Identify technical and execution risks and provide engineering support during procurement and construction, including RFI responses and field issue resolution.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
• Eight to ten years of overhead transmission line design experience on utility or EPC projects.
• Experience leading engineering teams or serving as a technical lead.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD and related transmission design software.
• Working knowledge of NESC, ASCE, and utility-specific design standards.
• Strong communication and cross-discipline coordination skills.

Compensation and Benefits
