Transmission Line Engineer Lead Kiewit Power Delivery Engineering

Job Summary

Kiewit Power Delivery is seeking a senior Transmission Line Engineer Lead in Houston to provide technical direction, mentor engineering and design staff, and deliver overhead transmission solutions for utility and EPC clients.

Project Details

The team supports overhead transmission projects ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV, covering concept development, routing, detailed design, procurement support, and construction assistance.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers and designers while coordinating schedules, workloads, and multidisciplinary design activities.
• Direct routing studies, structure selection, cost reviews, and constructability evaluations.
• Review plan and profile drawings, structure design packages, conductor and hardware specifications, foundation loads, bills of material, and construction work packages.
• Use PLS-CADD, PLS Pole/Tower, and SAG10 to guide and validate engineering work.
• Identify technical and execution risks and support procurement and construction by resolving RFIs and field issues.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
• 8–10 years of overhead transmission line design experience on utility or EPC projects.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD and related transmission design software.
• Prior engineering team leadership or technical lead experience.
• Knowledge of NESC, ASCE, and utility-specific design standards, along with strong cross-disciplinary communication skills.
